Your construction pathway
Pre Trade Training
This 12-week program is totally free, and will give you all you need to start, including:
• Training with one of Queensland's biggest construction firms
• Being mentored by fellow Indigenous people
• An opportunity* for full-time work and apprenticeships will be made available.
Expectations/pre-requisites
The program will run for 12 weeks full-time and students will be involved in 'real time' commercial
construction work across a variety of trades and professions.
*Subject to an interview and suitability with employers across the Surat Basin area.
About You
We are looking for students who have graduated from or left high school and have decided they want a career in the construction industry. Entry will be competitive, so applicants will need to:
- Be passionate about entering the construction industry
- Be able to travel to and from site
- Have a White Card
- Have steel capped boots
- Be competent in prevocational maths and English communication
- Be prepared to be interviewed by a Hutchinson’s representative before acceptance into the program..
