Our Client is a family owned and run business since 2011, based in Nanango and servicing the South Burnett region. They’re a dealer for Ranbuild Sheds and complete all aspects of work from concrete slabs to the construction of sheds. We also specialise in house extensions, renovations (i.e. bathroom, patios and decks), and insurance roof replacement work.
We’re recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic individual to become an apprentice carpenter, who is hard-working, good at taking directions, and listening.
The successful candidate will complete a Certificate III in Carpentry and receive formal and on the job training from industry experts. The certificate is a nationally recognised qualification, requiring 4 years placement.
This is an exciting opportunity to commence a role within a growing industry that will provide both on the job experience and study.
The opportunity is best suited to a driven, hard-working individual with a desire to pursue a career within the Building and Construction Industry.
Learn the foundations and content to develop skills and knowledge used in the construction industry
Assisting tradesmen with Residential, Commercial and Industrial builds; extensions, renovations, and the building of new sheds, patios, decks and bathrooms
Read drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and instillation procedures/layout
Contruct wall frames, roof trusses, ceiling frames and other various woodwork tasks
Complete concreting and form work
Use a variety of hand and power tools
Work under the guidance of the Tradesman and adhere to Work Place Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Must have a C class car licence and your own transportation
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Strong ability to make independent decisions and work autonomously
Be a team player and work well with others
Enjoy hard physical work
Be punctual and an early riser
Ability to work independently and can be left unattended at times
Previous building or woodworking experience (preferable, but not essential)
