Our client is currently seeking applications for an Indigenous Waste Water Treatment Officer to join their team. The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. The region is home to the stunning Bunya Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular rainforest walks, nights by the fire in hidden chalets and the best scenic views Queensland has to offer. The South Burnett region is renowned for its great wine, gourmet foods and recreational facilities such as Lake Boondooma and Yallakool tourist parks. We are currently servicing one of the largest employers in the South Burnett Region who are offering stable, steady work with a 9-day fortnight.
Assist in the effective and efficient operation, maintenance and construction of Client’s Water and wastewater infrastructure across the region
Undertake general labouring duties to construct and repair water and wastewater infrastructure for example fixing broken water mains, preparing work sites and laying pipework, installing and replacing water meters
Undertake general labouring duties to ensure the regular maintenance of Client’s water and wastewater infrastructure is in a safe working order in accordance with legislative standards and Client’s procedures.
Identify as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander
Minimum requirement of a current C class driver’s licence.
Follow Client operating procedures when performing construction, maintenance and drainage work
Action customer requires and repair infrastructure in accordance with operating procedures.
Operate plant and equipment and undertake traffic control duties as required
Assist with the enforcement and implementation of legislation and Council Policies relating to water and wastewater.
Complete and maintain administrative records (eg. Timesheets , daily work sheets, safety records and after hours call out requests)
Complete additional activities and reasonable directions given by management
General Safety Induction for Construction Worker Certification (White Card)
Truck (MR, HR, or HC licence (desirable)
Plant tickets/licences (Desirable)
Confined Space Entry Ticket (Desirable)
Proven experience performing general labouring duties
Proven ability to follow direction and work unsupervised
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
