Reporting to the Professional Standards and Safeguarding Manager, the Administration Officer - Safeguarding & HR will provide administrative support to the Professional Standards and Safeguarding Office and the Human Resource Office of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton. Great Salary.

Position Description:

  • Directing calls made to the Professional Standards & Safeguarding Office
  • Receiving and entering safeguarding personnel data into a database efficiently and accurately
  • Interacting with and providing information to Diocesan clergy, employees and volunteers as necessary
  • Processing Permission to Minister applications and preparing permission letters
  • Assisting with travel, training bookings and itinerary
  • Conducting safe recruitment checks for employees and volunteers
  • Explaining personnel screening requirements to employees and volunteers to increase participation
  • Assisting with advertising as part of recruitment campaigns
  • Escalating any complaints to the relevant manager

Position Requirements:

  • At least three years' experience working in an administration role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to effectively manage time and work schedules in an autonomous manner
  • Ability to accurately enter high volumes of data into a database
  • Intermediate competency in the use of Microsoft office suite
  • Ability to work within and uphold the values and mission of the Catholic Church, such as willingness to serve others, treating others with dignity and respect, and being sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of others
  • Current motor vehicle driver's licence
